LOCUST PROJECTS DREAM WITH US HOUSE WARMING PARTY

Miami, FL – November 19, 2022 – Locust Projects welcomed more than 300 members of Miami’s arts community to its house warming party themed Dream With Us to preview our new home in Little River! Inside the 8,000 square foot warehouse space was a massive hovering holographic house created by founder Westen Charles that cast prismatic light across the space.

Among the guests were Locust Projects Board members, donors, collectors, and numerous Miami-based artists, including artists who’ve had shows at the 24-year-old nonprofit alternative art space or received WaveMaker incubator grants. Outside, guests gathered to enjoy perfect Miami weather in the open air Courtyard where they dined on deliciously artful ArtPie’s, hearty plates of Shorty’s BBQ and Mediterranean fare from Mr. Mandolin.

The Guests enjoyed the lovely evening sipping on cocktails by Bacardi and quenching their thirst with Liquid Death mountain water.

Guests were greeted and entertained by the evening’s guest hostess, Queef Latina, as they shopped a housewarming gift ‘Wish List Wall’ of fixtures and furnishings to buy in support of the organization’s move in 2023. The Locust Projects Shop also had editions and special items available and on display for guests to purchase.

Haute Tension, recipients of Miami New Times’ “Best Local Album” in 2019, played an hour-long set while Dj Esta spun tunes to groove to, wrapping up the celebratory night that marked the beginning of a new era for Locust Projects. We can’t wait to make more memories in our new space with you!
