SUMMERTIME SHARING @ THE DiLL

During the Summer of 2024, Locust Late @ the DiLL hosted two engaging nights of exploration at Locust Projects, featuring artists at the forefront of digital innovation. Haiiileen, interdisciplinary artist and founder of Rainbow Oasiiis and the Chroma Art Film Festival, led a session on leveraging AI for art business development, offering insights into how artists can integrate artificial intelligence into their creative and professional practices.

Later in the season, Mark Diamond, a pioneer in laser holography, introduced participants to the history and fundamentals of 3D photography. Blending technical expertise with hands-on demonstrations, his workshop provided a deeper look into stereoscopic imaging and its artistic applications.

These summer sessions continued Locust Late @ the DiLL’s mission of fostering artist-driven experimentation, offering an informal space for learning, collaboration, and discovery at the intersection of art and technology.

August 15 2024- 3D Photography Workshop with Mark Diamond

Mark Diamond took participants on a journey through the 200-year history of 3D photography, exploring various 3D imaging techniques, many of which can be achieved with just a phone or camera. His workshop provided an accessible entry point into stereoscopic photography, offering practical methods for expanding three-dimensional perception in image-making.

A highlight of the evening was Diamond’s real-time demonstration of extreme 3D using a hyper stereo viewer, allowing guests to experience depth and dimensionality in a new way. Attendees walked away not only with fresh insights into DIY 3D photography but also with a free full-color animated hologram—a tangible memento of their dive into the world of holography and stereoscopic vision.

The night ended with a performance by DassaD
